SSM profiling machine PROFIL FFS

The SSM profile is a special profiling machine for ice hockey skates. The special feature is, among other things, the vertical positioning of the grinding wheel in relation to the skate blade. This allows the desired contour to be applied to the skate blade much faster and more accurately than with horizontally running grinding wheels.
After necessary subsequent hollow grinding, we recommend the SSM-2 or SSM TT3 with the corresponding hollow grinding radius.

This special edition can also be used for vertical grinding of artificial skate blades by using an additional special holder HFSS-8 (article: 22148), so that the blades can be ground exactly up to the blade teeth.

The SSM profile is available in a CE approved 220-240 volt version and in an ETL version with 110-120 volts.
The scope of delivery includes 4 freely selectable contour templates. We will be happy to advise you on the selection of the appropriate templates.

Features:
Fast grinding with less material wear
The vertical grinding position of the wheel results in a smaller contact area between the skate blade and the grinding wheel. This leads to a faster removal of material from the skate blade. In addition, the grinding wheel does not heat up as quickly, which leads to less material wear.
Contour time per skate (depending on steel hardness) 1-5 minutes

Precise contours
The vertical disc guide guarantees a more precise transfer of the template profile to the skate blade compared to a horizontal disc guide. With the SSM profile you get an optimal working pressure, so you avoid small impacts as well as imprecise contours on the skate blade.

Precise adjustment function
This machine has a fine adjustment tool. This supports you ideally to align the skate blade exactly to the desired template.

New Pivot System
In 2016 the system for moving the contour templates was revised again. It is now even easier and faster to move them safely in length.
